    First night arriving for the Camino in albergue

    Last time I started in Pamplona I stayed in Casa Ibarola (open all year round according to sources). Its a private albergue. I arrived late-ish, they let me in. The gentleman was very friendly and the next day he set me up with a credential and I was on my way. Easy peasy.

    What starting point to choose for a January Camino

    I will be starting around Jan 10th as well. I'm thinking about starting from Pamplona as it is a lovely walk from there and its easy to get to from Barcelona. I'll be walking a little more than 2 weeks. Not going to walk to Santiago.

    Pre Booking bus tickets

    I seem to remember the buses in Spain being first come first serve with tickets. They sold more tickets than there were seats, so it was a free-for-all. However, this was in Pamplona during San Fermin, so that may have been a big influence.

    Anyone with any experience with the transportation in Spain.... I am wondering what's the best way to get to SJPDP from Bilbao. I will be traveling in July and August, is it necesary to make reservations on the trains or can you show up and be able to get on the trains that take you around...
