    Class of 2019

Hi Moxy! I just may be in Porto around that date. I'm flying Military Space Available, so I don't know for sure when I'll get there, but hope to be in Lisbon by the end of August, which would put me in Porto not far from your date. I walked the whole Camino Frances in 2017 and have been itching...

    Class of 2019

Deborah, Hi! I walked the whole Camino Frances starting in September of 2017. I met a good number of people who were only doing "pieces" of the entire Camino. Also, many Spaniards do pieces for the same reason as you are, they can't get enough vacation at one time. Good luck and enjoy. I'm...

Starting from Lisbon "around" the end of August to beginning of September

I had noticed the Francigena. How far between decent hostels and how well marked is it? Oh, and since I'd probably be going alone, what is the likelihood of meeting other pilgrims?

Starting from Lisbon "around" the end of August to beginning of September

Hi, I think this is my first post on this website. I walked the Camino Frances in 2017, enjoyed it so much that I've been chomping at the bit to do another. So, I will be walking the Camino Portuguese from Lisbon, somewhere around the end of August to the beginning of September. I say "somewhere...

    Sock Liners. Yes or No

I walked the Camino Frances in September of 2017. After doing research similar to yours, I opted on good Solomon hiking shoes 1/2 size bigger than my normal, Injinji toe sock liners, and merino wool socks over them. I was 65 years old, had never done anything like this before, and after 800 Kms...

Best Blister Prevention Method - Vote!

I agree with daesdaemar, I bought quality Solomon hiking shoes, 1/2 size larger than normal, wore Injinji toe sock liners and Merino wool socks and at age 65 I didn't even get close to a blister in 800K!

    NewBee

I was 65 years old in 2017 when I walked the Camino Frances from St. Jean Pied du Port to Santiago. I did the whole route in 34 days and had no real problems with pain or blisters. I feel my secret (other than maybe good genes) was buying a quality pair of hiking shoes (Solomon), and wearing...

Any lodgings between Orisson and Roncevalles

When I did the Camino Frances in September of 2017, I considered stopping at Orisson, but put the idea off. When I arrived in Spain before my trip to St. Jean Pied du Port, I decided I'd better not push it, and stop in Orrison. Unfortunately (or not), they were fully booked that close, so I...
