I had Maim Maim and then Raju on my iPhone, I found the Raju guide useful as a means of understanding what lay ahead i'e in providing a description of the walk ahead. Also suggested some really useful alternative routes and short cuts. I didn't have a separate map.
I started with 2 x 600 and eventually dropped down to 1 x 600 and say 200 mill just in case - make sure your public water taps are marked "Eau Potable".

There were mountain bikers attempting quite a few of the trails when I was walking it - June 4 to July 8 but as a some time cyclist myself I can tell you they weren't having much fun.
A lot of time was spent pushing/carrying the bikes up places they weren't designed for - having said that some...
I'm over halfway now in Mossiac. After I cleared Conques the trail has been much quieter and have been booking day before no problems

I was wondering about a wave, my brother is only with me for 12 days so don't want to delay a day and we can't start sooner.
Worst case for the first night is a taxi back to Le Puy I guess and then taxi back but in the meantime trying a few other places.
