    Bed Bugs April 2018

My son was bitten by bed bugs last week. We are tracing it back and it is possibly San Saturnino in Ventosa la Rioja or Albergue Victoria in Cirueña. Anyone else have this problem? It might help narrow it down if someone else has also dealt with it. We have cleaned everything and treated...

    footwear question for april 2018

In 2013 it was wet and muddy in early April starting from Pamplona and there was later snow in O'Cebreiro. Each year the weather can be different but I would recommend you be prepared for wet and muddy conditions and be pleased if it turned out to be not that way. So, consider light...

    Cell Phone Use

How about Google Fi? Has anyone used it along the Camino? It has worked for me in many countries and I plan to use it this year in April/May. In 2013, I used Vodafone and picked up the sim and 30 day plan at a shop in Madrid. It worked great from Pamplona to Santiago. There were Vodafone...

IMPORTANT: Advice for pilgrims setting off APRIL 2013

There were some snow flurries and light hail earlier today in the morning near Logroño. I left Pamplona on Monday. While it was muddy and wet the first two days, the trails over the last two days have been relatively mud and water free.

    List your shoes

Patagonia Mid P26. Gortex. Reasonably low and light but with good ankle support. Bought them on sale some months ago and have worn them in blister free. I also like the Salomon ortho lite but am walking in April and prefer the Patagonia pair in rain and mud.

Getting a Cell phone in Spain

Re: smart phone Vodafone has a special right now: SIM, 1GB data, 60 minutes of calls and 60 SMS messages for 15 euros. Good for a month and can be renewed for another month for 15 euros. Just picked this up in Madrid today. There is also a 12 euro deal with less of everything; and an 18 euro...

    Hiking poles vs. walking stick

I am used to using anti-shock poles and will bring them with me. However, my wife will not use any pole at all. In the end, I think it is a personal choice and depends what you are comfortable with when you walk. But definitely trying them out before the coming can help make the decision.

    ipad questions

RE: typing For my iPad I use a Logitech keyboard that was designed to fit as the cover (with the same type magnets). It is slim, lightweight, same size as the iPad, holds a charge for six months of typing and has a notch to set the iPad in while you are typing. I bring this along when I want...

Walking Pamplona to Finisterre April to mid May 2013

Hello. My name is Ray and I'll be walking the Camino for the first time from the first week of April until mid-May. I will be in Pamplona for Easter weekend. Will there be any Semana Santa processions or other events at that time in Pamplona to see?
