I just finished my Camino on July 23rd in Muxia. I walked alone, but rarely did I feel alone. There are always people to meet and like the others said, pilgrims take care of each other. I had injured my knee going in to Roncesvalles and so many pilgrims offered to help me the week or two...
I am currently in Burgos and every thinks 25€ a day is too low. It's more like 30€ a day. Some days less, some more- but do prepare for little emergencies and have some extra money. Almost everyone loses something or needs to buy a big item that they didn't think they needed.
Keeping cash, passport, and ATM cards with you at all times is easy. My phone is another problem. Most albergues only have 1 or 2 outlets in a room so often I have to leave my phone in a bathroom, hall or common charging. Be prepared for that. So far I have been lucky.
