    Women group on the camino

Having walked alone on several caminos from 2005 to 2018, planning a new/ my last camino next May, in the age of 74, I have started thinking that it could have been OK to join a group of women in my age, or others that want shorter stages. My original plan was walking from Madrid, joining the...

Arroyos with stepping stones between Tres Cantos and Colmenar Viejo

Just read in a guidebook that there are a dozen of arroyos to be crossed between Tres Cantos and Colmenar, none of them with a bridge, some of them with steppingstones at the edge of a waterfall. When I walked Via the la Plata, walking through El Berrocal after a couple of days with heavy rain...

    Camino Vadiniense the opposite way?

Did any of you walk the other way and end up in Potes? Since my aim is Picos and Funte De, starting from Madrid it would be easier walking the opposite route starting in Mansilla.

    Camino Vadiniense in September

For some years the Picos de Europa has been in my interest and these years I have studied this route reading what all of you have written about it. I would like to walk from Santander, where I ended my camino Norte some years ago, to Funte De and spend som nights there as an end. See that I can...

LIVE from the Camino Live from the Invierno when I still remember

Started out from Ponferrada today in nice but a bit chilly weather. Seeing that it was hotter at home in the north of Norway, was a bit surprising. The markings were good along the way. In Toral de Merayo the only bar open at 9.30 was the Bar Nogal. The only place I wondered about the way today...

    Shoes on Camino De Inviernoo?

Seems to me that most of this camino is on ordinary roads, only a few streches on paths. What kind of shoes did you use, runners, hikingshoes or hikingboots? Since I walk offroad most of the year I have a selection of mountainboots and hikingshoes, but these are perhaps not so good on asfalt and...

    Avoiding the dogs in Villavieja?

On the gronze map for the first day, before Villavieja, there is a cut in the route called Variante por la nacional. Looks like a shortcut that cut off Villavieja. Has anybody tried that shortcut? Looks to me like an opportunity to not meeting the big dog in town.

¿When go to see the sunflowers¿

I have walked from Le Puy in August and in May and also from Moissac in May hoping to see sunflowersacres, but they were either dead in September or small plants in May. On my first walk on GR 65 arriving in SJPdP late September the last part was boring in my opinion with dead acres of corn or...

Do any of you know whether it is possible to go by bus from Santander or other places on the Norte to Fuente Dé. I can find a bus to Potes until mid September but not later, and buses to Funte Dé only during summer, not in October.

LIVE from the Camino Camino Frances today

Even if Spain is very hot at the moment it has been cold day in Monte de Leon. A day for wool and doublelayer, even had to put on my merinogloves. But to be honest I prefer this to the 40 degrees Lopez is talking about on el tiempo. And the colours are beautiful. Buen camino to all peregrinos!
