Camino art - just for fun

I also stayed at this Albergue; the owner locked us in at night, it made me very uncomfortable.

    Ladies Osprey Packs

The only minor thing is that you can't easily reach the sidepockets. So when I want to drink I have to stop, take pack off and grab bottle. But sometimes I buy the more compact 33 cl bottles that I can place in the pockets of my trousers. I also have the Osprey Talon 33, and I absolutely loved...

    First time - planning jitters

Hi Deb, I flew Vanc to Pamplona and then took a bus to SJPdP, super easy. I was traveling solo as well, for the whole Camino and didn’t experience any problems at all, there was never a moment where I felt afraid. You will meet many wonderful people who will make you feel part of a bigger whole...

How did the camino provide for you?

This was also my experience! I was very lost one day, had walked 3 hours in the wrong direction after leaving early in the morning because I couldn't sleep. A police car went past me, turned around and came back, took me for breakfast and coffee and delivered me back to the point where I should...

What did you bring on the Camino that you wound up not using?

I brought a braided clothesline that I never used - there were always some available at the albergues.

    After Camino

You are so correct, I went back and did a second camino and the experience was completely different, and actually not nearly as enjoyable as my first. I left quite heartbroken.

Tour du Mont Blanc... then Camino Frances?

For the month of July, 2016, I am considering hiking the TMB and then heading directly to SJPDP to walk as much as I can of the CF before I have to head home. I was wondering if anyone else had done this, and what they thought of doing the two so close together. I have walked the Camino Frances...

    Don't Pick the Grapes!!!

Yes they are wine grapes, but I work at a winery, and trust me... they are tasty! We have the same problem here with tourists helping themselves to our grapes, it is very frustrating! Pilgrims should not be doing this.

    Post-camino tattoo?

    Class of 2017

I walked in Sept-Oct 2014 and it was really great walking temperatures, plus no problems at all finding beds along the way. I am hoping to go again in 2017, thinking May and June-ish, but I'd really like to see the sunflowers in bloom... can anyone tell me when is the best time for this? Thanks!

Top Five Things I Hate About (returning from) the Camino…

Thank you to both Arn and Al. I agree that my friends knew what I let them. I do think I know my own mind a bit better these days; I know that I am a different person than I was before my camino. And I am deciding which camino will be my next one :)

Top Five Things I Hate About (returning from) the Camino…

I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments here, it makes me feel a little less alone in my post-camino blues. I've been home now for 2 weeks and am a roller coaster of emotions. Everyone wants to hear about my camino, but I find it very difficult to find the words to express properly, and no one...

    Inspiring Quotations

I love this thread :) Thanks for all the inspiration. "It does not matter how slow you go so long as you do not stop" -- Confucius This quote became a mantra for me when my son was recovering from a motorcycle accident and had to adjust to life in a wheelchair. It is the first thing I wrote in...
