I wouldn't worry about the long stages, particularly in the first 200 miles, and by that time you will be conditioned enough to walk 35-40km in 8 hours. Since vacation time limited me to 2 wks., and since Merida and Caceres are worth spending at least a day to visit, I doubled up some treks, but...- emullen
