I usually wore my fleece pullover under rain jacket if i'am cold in the morning when walking but yes it is nice and cozy if your cold when trying to sleep.
I prefer a fleece because it’s cozier for lounging around in the afternoon/evening and if I have to sleep in it. Also water just kind of wicks off it, puffer absorbs the water.
