    The last 100 km

We just finished our Camino and were lucky to be able to get the time to do the walk from St Jean to Santiago. The walk from Sarria is a very different experience and certainly not my personal favourite stretch. We joined up with some large groups out of Sarria from Ireland, Australia and the US...

    Flasher in Columbrianos!

It in no way ruined our Camino. As two 50+ ladies with 4 Nordic walking poles we felt well able to deal with most situations! Having returned to the UK on Saturday and completed our journey from France to Santiago we are happily planning a Portuguese Camino in June(me) a short trip to Finisterre...

A New Certificate Being Offered This Year Commemorating St. Francis

We had already paid for the credential in O Cebreiro and were very generous when we received our special certificate (more than a night in an Albergue) it was more about the level of intimidation. Maybe a small levy on all accommodations in Santiago or even better a small donation from every...

A New Certificate Being Offered This Year Commemorating St. Francis

We picked up a new passport in O Cebreiro and were under the impression that the St Francis credential would be given to anyone who completed the journey to Santiago from that point. It was clear when we got to Santiago that anyone who walked from at least Sarria and showed any type of passport...

    Flasher in Columbrianos!

We both feel that we should have reported it and having shared the story with a number of female pilgrims it appears that it is far more common than we thought. There were a number of young girls walking through the village just a few minutes after it happened so we waited til they had safely...

    Flasher in Columbrianos!

Hopefully this is not a common occurrence but today whilst walking through Columbrianos just a few metres past the Ermita Louise and I could see a man mid 30's Spanish appearance stood in a gateway with a car parked on our side of the road. He looked to be taking a toilet break which struck me...

    Missing poles help needed

Lise we were lucky that the local bank manager came with us , asked everyone and helped us look around....no luck I'm afraid and Louise now has blistered hands from cheap replacement poles. We still have quite a way to go so may have to ship some out!

    Missing poles help needed

With Nordic poles you have a half glove strap that you clip the poles onto. Louise walked away with her straps on and left the poles behind. They are designed to work with the straps so pretty useless to anyone else.

    Missing poles help needed

Today in La Virgen del Camino Louise left her very specialised Nordic Walking poles by a cashpoint on the Main Street. A few minutes later we returned and they had gone. We hope that a passing pilgrim might have picked them up as non of the local business owners had any handed in to them. The...

    A little Havana in Hermanillos

Thank you it is so nice to be back on the Camino and despite some very ad hoc wifi back on the forum! We have just retired after the best pilgrim menu I have had and the warmest of hosts the true spirit of the Camino. I really wish that places like this received more recognition for the...

    A little Havana in Hermanillos

A quick introduction as some technical problems meant our sign on from last year SarahandLouise has had to be replaced. Some of you may remember we had to postpone our 2013 Camino and had a further set back in September involving broken bones? The good news is we have returned and the even...
