Hello LindaH. I did the Camino Frances last year with my Jawbone Up band tracking my steps (yes, the Camino is just over one million steps - St.JPdP to Santiago de Compostela ) and also used MapMyRun to track each day's walk. I bought my first Orange sim in Pamplona (1G for 10 or 15 euros) and...
Currently on the Camino Frances and using the Smartube system and loving it . Search on this site as someone else has a link to it . It is really somewhere between bottles and bladders. It is really a long plastic drinking straw with adapters for standard bottles ( Nalgene, regular commercial...
I am with you there. I am currently in Sahagun ( halfway! ) , just under 3 weeks to Santiago. I booked my trip dates starting with being in SdC on a Friday to ensure I see the Botafumeiro. And I am an atheist, too.
Unsure what you mean by "improper behavior". On the CF right now and very aware of Denise T's disappearance. Will be in Astorga in 10 - 11 days. What should I be looking out for?
I am on the Camino Frances right now and love my Scrubba. It gets the clothes really clean( if they're really dirty, I might wash/rinse again before hanging up) the key to getting it to work is getting as much air as possible out if the bag, first before you roll the top to close and then use...
I am on the CF right now and would like to put in my 2 cents worth. I am using the Smartube system and like it quite well (see link in wayfarer's post near the top) I don't drink enough water and I agree with an earlier post - I would delay drinking because stopping and taking off my pack...
Can't remember how many times I have watched it. There are parts of it that annoy me but overall I still love it and recommend it to everyone who asks about the Camino (which I start walking May 2..eeekk is right) as an intro to what it is all about. I can't wait to see those places in person...
Under new rules, Canadian carriers are required to unlock phones if requested (and for $50 ,of course) after 90 days of any contract. I just got my new iPhone 6 in November so am planning to test that this week and take it with me on Camino.
I am planning to take my Jawbone Up. Very encouraged to read from others who have taken their fitness trackers. I have been using mine for about a year and a half and really like the feedback it gives as well as the silent alarm clock.
Re: GoToobs. I took one with the suction cup to Africa last year. It fell on the stone floor of the shower and the cap shattered, making it useless. I was very annoyed as they are expensive. Wonder if the newer ones have a more durable cap?
Thanks for the update. I will be arriving in St. Jean Pied de Port the day before so hopefully all will be well. As to the number of people, oh well, perhaps it will be a blessing for a newbie like me.
I am planning to start from SJPP on May 1, 2015. Haven't got my flights booked yet because have to renew my passport first (in progress). Very excited, a bit scared and obsessing about packing minutiae at the moment.
