Also remember, from Lisbon to Santarem you are on the same route as the Camino de Fatima. Depending on time, you could walk to Fatima then cross over to Tomar. Don't miss Tomar though.
I've always been interested in architecture, especially of cathedrals. So i'm starting it today. I haven't taken a course outside of career specific ones in many years, so I'm really excited. Thanks for sharing the link.

I'm not sure about Portugal, but Easter Monday is typically a holiday in Europe and has the same 'closings and schedules as Easter Sunday'. I found this out the hard way in France several years ago... I'm not sure what was/wasn't open on Saturday.
It had nothing to do with gear or footwear or the backpacking fads or philosophies of any particular era or even with getting from point A to point B.
It had to do with how it felt to be in the wild. With what it was like to walk for miles with no reason other than to witness the accumulation...
I'm not sure about ebikes, but I've used Cycling-rentals.com for other bike rentals in the past and they are great to work with. Hey delivered to our starting point and picked up where we finished.
From my notes - Camino Portugues just north of Lisbon, Oct 2015:
The rest of the way to Alverca went smoothly, still raining though, and we easily navigated the bikes through the rail stations via the elevators, but it was now starting to get dark.
Second set of issues, we couldn’t find the...
Here is the sign at the beginning, I just snapped this from Google maps. The road where the crane is is the road here the Cathedral Se is (down the hill to the right)
Farther up the road from the cathedral There's an actual starting point, at least this was there in 2015. Dismal Church was further up the hill from the main Cathedral on the left side if I remember correctly. This church was not open to the public,. What wonderful memories this brings back...
While I work on high tech or maybe for that reason, I love the times I can be disconnected. Friends, family and significant other can't understand how I can leave home without my phone some days and walk around with a laptop and phone others. When work requires it, I have to be fully...
Congratulations! You made the decision to go, so happy for you. We all have our own journey to take, looks like you are now enjoying yours. Buen Camino!
@DugganMi: You will get there, just believe! The pain will get less and less as time goes on. The first walks may be very short, but it will happen. I remember the first time I was able to walk from my living room to the bathroom without crutches or a cane, for me, that was the ultra bright...
Based on what you say about the prognosis from your doctor, you will be able to do it. For it to happen though, you will need to believe in yourself and be very diligent with your rehab. Don't over do it, but try not to take many days off either. I did all the exercises I was given by my PT...
Looking forward, don't miss Tomar. It was one of my highlights of the Camino Portuguese for. We stayed at Tomar 2300, a hostile. Fantastic place. You have to go up and go into the castle it's amazing.
A couple other highlights were the university library in Coimbra and visiting a port celler...
A couple favorite quotes which apply:
"Never ever judge anyone. You don't know their story and what's really going on. A smile can hide so much."
"There's a story behind every person. There's a reason why they're the way they are. Pain alters our personality."
