    Succinct advice

    How I miss Garcia!

    Plans for 2021?

Some interesting comments above but I'd fall in with the 2022 mob, assuming I'm still above ground. Would give my eye teeth to be walking the meseta right now but we aren't allowed out of the country, much less impose ourselves on Spain at this time. I walked a delightful week or two on the...

Where is this bridge? Just a little fun.

OK- two for you VNwalking: First "a bridge of a similar name it seems but of a later time and a different queen" Second I don't expect anyone to recall this one, it may even have dissappeared by now. But thank you Robert, I found your bridge delightful.

    What's your earliest Camino connection?

Good question trecile, it's an often discussed topic amongst pilgrims. I felt tempted to post to your thread, but then looked up mspath’s link to an earlier thread and read Kanga’s contribution. I then felt compelled to post something. Apparently we have been travelling in Kanga’s wake, albeit a...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Four cases from the Camino

Ditto here in Tasmania, Anamiri. No colds or flu around here this year either, the only real problem is being confined too close to the refrigerator. It seems to be shrinking all my clothes. On a positive note I reckon it's actually giving the planet a chance for a breather. Got to be good...

Has anyone heard of *this* camino!?? (Camino de las Asturias)

Now there's one for the wish list when this covid thing finally settles down. It looks fantastic, I can taste the sidra and smell a fabada from in front of the pc!

What was the biggest surprise of your Camino?

Indeed was a surprise to me, seemed everyone had an aversion to open windows at night together with a mortal fear of mosquitos. Made for some amusing opn/shut/open games. I guess to each their own.

What was the biggest surprise of your Camino?

ditto Australia, we are losing (lost?) that community feeling. Shopping mall culture really doesn't cut the mustard. Hats off to the Spanish.

Is the VdlP only 989km long?

Ours from 2018 say 1007km so it appears that the Iberian Peninsula is neither shrinking nor expanding at this time. Mind you, I reckon a few of the long road sections on this way (eg north of Salamanca) deserve a few penalty kilometers just for perserverance. Also, it is well known that the...

Hospitalero in Arres- ( Camino Aragones)

The albergue in Arrés was certainly one of the highlights of our first camino, Arles to Muxia, 2015. The two hospitaleas wrote an individual message for each pilgrim, wonderful communal dinner and walk to the church. It was an absolute privilege to experience it, a real camino moment. The walk...

Castilblanco to Almaden (that stage from hell again)

Thank you forum members for all this information. Ani & I are starting the VdlP mid May 2018 (just 4 weeks away!) from Seville. Looks like it may throw up a few challenges, we may even have to pack flippers & snorkles. Hopefully it will have warmed up and dried out a bit by then. We are greatly...

Were you there in the 60's? A pilgrim song for you

Now there's a great song and fantastic musician

Were you there in the 60's? A pilgrim song for you

Love the R Crumb logo, just need a couple of walking poles.

First Spanish SIM card availability on Camino Frances?

Hi Roger Confirm there is an Orange Espana shop in Pamplona in the city centre. I bought a data only sim (iPad mini) in Oct last year. They were excellent, installed & set it up etc in about 30 minutes. It makes you appreciate how insanely expensive telecom services are in Australia. From memory...
