I just finished the Arles away a few weeks ago. I relied on the Gronze website (which, as others have said, Chrome will translate for you) and Miam Miam Dodo, which is pretty easy to follow even if you don't speak French. Gronze is great for letting you quickly see the distances between places...
Then it looks like I'll see you July! I'll be passing through mid-month after walking the Via Tolosana and spending a couple of weeks on the GR10 in the Pyrenees.
I find that for me walking uphill is easier if I take longer strides than usual. There's something about the body mechanics of doing that that works well for me.
I often have a hard time with heights, but I enjoyed hiking the narrow Chemin de la Mature, carved out of the cliff, when I was hiking on the GR10 in 2019 after walking the LePuy Route in France. This summer I'm planning to walk the Via Tolosana and the Camino Aragones - so I just might take...
I brought my Ipad mini, carried in a pouch on my belt. It took great photos and I like being able to edit my photos and label them before posting them. And the screen size was better for my older eyes.
