Best Bank Accounts for Travel by Country

I obtained an ING card last year before I left Australia for a three month trip. All my ATM fees and overseas transaction costs were all refunded. There were a couple of conditions, I had to transfer a minimum of $1000 to the account each month and had to use the account a minimum of 5 times...

    Psst.... Aussies, did you know????

Here here to the Decathlon props. Used their inexpensive (approx $70 AUD) Forclaz 50 litre pack for both Camino Norte/Primitivo and then Frances. It's still going strong. Gave their higher end socks a crack last year on the Frances and they were excellent!!

    Carry on backpack?

Good advice from Vacajoe. If you happen to be after an inexpensive, carry-on friendly backpack there is the Forclaz 50 from Decathlon. I used it backpacking for nearly 4 months this year and had no issues taking it carry-on with the 7 different airlines I flew (Malaysian, Vueling, Brussels...

Newbie arriving in SJPdP on 2nd Nov - last minute questions

Wow, an amazing trip to take on at the last minute!! I hope you have an awesome time. In response to your questions: Q1. Reaching Valcarlos is possible, though that depends very much on walking pace. Also, I tend to find in mountainous areas there is the potential for it to get darker earlier...

Decathlon coming to Australia in September 2017

Last year I used the Decathlon brand 50 litre pack for the Norte/Primitivo then onto Finisterre and Muxia and it was great!! Picked it up over there for 40 euro. Total bargain! Was also able to take it carry on when flying, provided not filled to capacity. For a few days I had to carry a friends...

    April/May Camino Footwear

Hi Peter, I haven't done the Paris option, but found the Madrid option (which I did by bus) really simple. I am thinking I will go via Madrid again should I head over next year.

Hey Heda, which brand of trail runners did you use this year, if you don't mind me asking??

Is it hard to find a albergue in June on the way of France Camino

Hi Kentchi, I agree with Pinguigrino, at night it can still be cool so a light sleeping bag is good to have. I never once needed a mattress, that is something you could leave behind. Buen Camino

Is it hard to find a albergue in June on the way of France Camino

I did the stretch between Leon and Santiago at the same time last year. Most days I finished walking by 2 or 3pm and never had any issues finding a bed. The leg between Sarria and Santiago is notoriously busy, so on this section you might want to arrive at albergues earlier rather than later...

    Favorite Camino app for Android?

Hey! I used 'Camino Pilgrim' last year and I found it super helpful!! It was free and had a list of the albergues that were coming up on any particular stage, with useful information about each of them. It had stage distances, as well as distances between albergues. Also, it was simple and...
