    I agree, poles take some of the load off your legs and back and tone your arms. As trecile mentioned, they help you to avoid the swelling in the fingers I usually get on long hikes, I call it sausage fingers.

    When I went last September I left my headlamp at home to save the weight, that was a mistake. I had no idea it wouldn't get light out until 8:00 in the morning. I found myself leaving usually around 6:30 as it was pretty hard to sleep when people start getting up at 5:00 and shuffling around...

    I finished last month and I saw many young ladies walking alone, I'm from Canada and I felt safer on the Camino than I do at home. I spent an average of 30 Euro's a day. Probably the most inexpensive vacation I have ever taken.

    I finished a few weeks ago, I saw half a dozen people camping in the month I walked. It looked like a great option to the nightly snorefest, except for the whole not showering thing.

    New Painkiller Survey

    I have tendinitis at the moment couldn't walk without ibuprofen in the morning. I use vino tinto in the evening to ease the pain. I'm in Leon right now and it seems a pretty popular combination. I'll detox my liver when I get home.

    We were there yesterday and our Albergue didn't fill up until 4:00 pm. I had a great night in Logrono, my best yet on the Camino.

    The MEC here where I live doesn't carry Osprey for some reason. I bought my pack at Atmosphere sports, they probably have them in Toronto. They also had a great sale on icebreaker shirts and socks recently so I loaded up.
