Great hints, especially the top 2. I also saw pilgrims overloaded and purging along the way, but the 2nd suggestion is the best. You don't realize how psyched you are on the trail and quickly crash and burn when you reach the focused destination. So much better to reach your intended resting...
We were always able to find a bano! However, I do use panty liners and a cat hole in the back country. Otherwise, pack out your tissue in a baggie until you are able to properly dispose of it.
I heard the meseta was long and boring as well, but I really enjoyed the walk. There were other parts that I wondered why I was walking - through forests, along highways, but in retrospect it's all an amazing experience.

I'm a camper - no frills - sometime off the trail - and I'm glad we didn't decided to camp along the Camino Frances. Please research this. I agree with whariwharangi's comment about sanitation, etc.
Enjoy it, take your time - can't be said enough. Listen to your heart and your feet, you'll be surprise how little you need if you follow that thought. I wish I had taken more time and stopped more to enjoy the moment.
I had a battery pack to charge my phone when I couldn't keep it in sight. Many of the albergues did have convenient plugs near your bed and it was there I charge either my phone or battery pack.
I used a liquid multiuse soap for body and hair, it worked well. Bar soap for clothes scrubbing. I wish I had taken an old, worn, cotton towel instead if the hiking microfibre, which I find don't dry as well after use or after washing.
I'm sorry and disappointed for you. I worried about it myself and always plugged my phone to charge where I could see it. I hope you are able to find enough memories in the familiar pictures of others to trigger all the other memories of the wonderful experience of walking across Spain.
