So I stayed at Casa Nuñez in Campobecerros yesterday. Peregrina 2000 had reserved a room for me. There were no bedbugs. If there had been I would have known because I am very sensitive to their bites. It was not luxury accommodation by any means but I have stayed in worse places on the Camino...
On this day two years ago, in the Templar Church at Villalcazar de Sirga, Saint James leads the way.
I will be on the Camino Sanabres very soon, starting in Zamora next week. New photos!

I had sought solitude on this Camino, and according to this habit that I had developed, I went to the early morning mass in the cathedral, instead of the pilgrim mass at noon.

Thank you, and Buen Camino!

I second that, thank you for your help, Gerald and Laurie, and to Chrissy for starting the thread. Very timely for me. I’m leaving for Spain in three weeks, and will be walking this Camino for the first time.

I’ll be walking from Zamora starting mid-April. I have looked at your updates, am wondering if the municipal albergue in Montamarta is closed indefinitely?
In 2022 I encountered nasty little dogs at the beginning of the descent to Belesar, and even nastier little dogs part way up the other side. They yapped and growled and came after me but didn’t attack, thank goodness. In the second instance there were three of them up on a retaining wall on the...
April 30, 2022 Camino Invierno, day 10
Soon after reaching the peak of Monte Faro, I was level with the wind turbines. It was still a long way to Rodeiro at this point. Quite the challenging day!
