I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband in April, and am struggling through the many layers of grief. Life won't be the same. I promised him, before he died, to walk a Camino for him. Monte de Gozo - statue commemorating visit of pope has been removed
I, too, found the monument stark looking and out of place. It really needed someone to have planned landscaping around it. Having said that, I still liked it because of what it represented.
