I find the Camino bug is nibbling again, and I feel like the VdlP is the route that is calling.
Like many I don't have the time off to complete the entire route from Sevilla to SdC. I should be able to pull off 21 days on the ground with time either side for travel.

Have you done something embarrassing while on Camino?
My worst moment was in San Bol. One of my Camino family members asked the rest of us if we should walk early as the temperature was supposed to soar the next day. We agreed to wake at 4 am and start the stage.

October might not be the best time to start the Baztan route.
I made it to Elizondo today to find that there we no beds available anywhere. (four day fiesta that I had no clue about) Not in albergues, casas or hotels. Two days earlier I couldn't find room in Espelette either.

I'm trying hard to cut my pack down as much as possible.
I've not yet seen anything about pilgrims sleeping rough unless it is by their own choice. Is it truly necessary to carry a sleeping pad?
