    Yes we found that to be the case , but from Colmenar we had 2 short /small streams to cross, one stepping stones & the other was a log , hanging on to barbed wire fence

    Sun quite warm here in Castromonte but cold out of it , frozen puddles this am . Been doing short days & only walked from Penaflor de Honija today . PS when you walk past the pig sty on this stage there may a rather large dog loose but he is as soft as a brush & just looking for someone to play...

    It was 3c when we left Alcazaren this morning Jill. Detoured on train to Vallodalid & got boots , posted old ones home €24 . Poured down , sleeted & hailed . Easy day , bus to Vallodalid, train to Valdestillas & walked 90 mins from there . Not that pleasant walking alongside the rd . Great...

    The Spanish lady (Patricio) that turned up said she had about 10 river crossings on the way from Tres Cantos to Colmenar & it was up to her knees sometimes , she also walked the rd from cercedilla to Segovia in pouring rain, a lot tougher than me .

    Hi Annie , there is a cafe on the station but we had a leisurely breakfast at colonial cafe on the main st (good) wet gear is leaking slightly & using home simply as well as Wi-Fi where we can get it . Cheers Tony
