Dear All, I completed the Portugal Camino. I managed to camp 5 nights mostly in Portugal. The campsite in Caminho Vilarelho) was only 9 euro and I was happy because my budget is tight. The most expensive site 17 euro. ( 2 persons and a tent). In Spain and Portugal the campsites were all along...
I am planning to walk from Porto to Santiago in April (Portugal Camino, coastal path). I would like to take my tent and camp, wherever it is possible. If you were camping along the coastal way, please share your experience - any list of camping's, place recommended to stay, or anything you might...
"Once a pilgrim, forever a pilgrim" Matt. This is so true. I also thought I found myself during the walk. Now I know, it was just the beginning. There is a long journey for us, and I am sure we won't get all the answers. But searching is the path.
Hi, I have the same plan / same questions. I am sure August and the beginning of September is very hot. I also think it is better to walk when the school holidays finish. I would also ask if wild camping is allowed in Portugal or are there any albergues who would let you put up your tent? Any...
I have read your post two days ago and I must say what you wrote is keep coming back to my mind. I can relate to that... and this made me so sad Alexwalker... I truly hope one day you will look up. Love is the only thing that matters... but it is so hard to believe when you are hurt.
I met the one in the Camino too. I wasn't looking for love at all... but the Camino gives you what you need not what you wish for. I will never forget him till the end of my life. I never met anyone like him, and I don't think I ever will again. We were both too broken, too unexperienced, and...
I often think about how the post-pandemic situation will look like, and how COVID-19 will change the social contacts in long term. I believe pilgrims will return very soon, as there are so many people waiting to continoue or fulfill the journey. I also think human beings can not live without...
I also think it might worth camping more, than using the albergues. I would really appreciate if they could have more outdoor showers, and toilets, like in campsites, too.
In case we go to albergues I think this is clever regulation: "Individual lingerie. In shared rooms, the hostel will...
Thank you for your post Davidbugg I am sure we all learned from it a lot.
I am pleased you made it clear that "any viral illness that humans become ill from, a percentage of those who recover will still be able to get infected again". There is a scientific consensus about that.
Understanding...
Thank you for this post davebugg. Now that we know you are an expert may I ask something? They can't cure the viral illness in case of HIV on flu either. We already know, that one can not be immune even if he had COVID-19 (we can catch it again). So I am I right thinking that the goal of...

Davebugg, you are completely right in everything you wrote. My point was that vaccinations will be available soon, and I think you agree with that.
I need to apologize, because I mixed two things up. One thing is the VACCINATION (for protect us not to have the virus) the other is the cure, the...
The whole world is working on the vaccinations. Can you imagine what a prestige it will be for the company who has it first? The vaccination will be available by the end of this year - the beginning of next year, scientists says. It just takes time to make the necessary tests. Than they need to...
I fully agree! I hate vaccinations.... only if it is a must.... last time I had to have some when I traveled to Asia, particularly Vietnam and Myanmar (Burma). I was planning to walk from Le Puy to Porto and sleeping in tent this summer... but we still need to shower, eat, so we need access to...
Funny I had the same in my mind... Let me share my answers with you.
Perfect albergue:
1. In normal circumstances I would have 2 (private) rooms with 1 bed, 2 (private) rooms with 2 beds and 2 rooms with 4-6 bunk beds. So I could have different solutions for all pilgrims, depending on their age...
I fully agree, unfortunately no Camino should start, without having a vaccine, and new regulation about official card proving valid vaccination ... It is not about the social distance during walking only, it is mainly about the sleeping circumstances, the crowded albergues... Please don't forget...
Walking again, because no two Camino's are the same.. and because there are new things in life I need to leave behind in Cruz the Ferro, and more people to pray for.
