    bicycling from Porto to Santiago

We just returned home from biking the the central route. It was during the recent hot week (unexpected). The coast would have been a nicer option I think. We rode rental bikes that were just manageable barely. The fit was not ideal and the breaks were pretty bad. Any steep bumpy hill required...

    Interior route

So now I am really confused again. We are in Vila Velha de Rodao which is just south of Castelo Branco. On a walk to a park and river walk we saw this sign. Is it just another way to describe a walking path or is it part of another Camino to Santiago de Compostella?

We are touristas now exploring by car the Dorro valley including Lamega (fabulous steps to cathedral) and Pinhoa (meh tourist wine town). I was pleasantly surprised to see and follow for a little way Camino signage. I believe this to be the interior route? I didn’t see any pilgrims but possibly...

    Mosquitoes and pollen on CP?

I always bring bug juice and emergency wipes. I am loved by mosquitoes and have significant reactions but knowing others have not had issues will help me plan Regarding cow smell, it is all your perspective. Dairy farmers say it smells like money!

não me toque - don't touch me - words you may need on the Caminho Portugues

I will be traveling with my husband and a group of 4 other women. I will remind them we all need to use the buddy system. I am wondering the most effective words for: "NO!", "don't touch me", "STOP!" "No thank you", On the other side of the spectrum, what is the best reply to Bom Caminho...

    Wall Map of Portuguese Camino

I confess I did find a map of Portugal at AAA, (Michelin) and hung it in my dining room. My husband and I are doing a 2 week exploratory trip of Portugal before the Camino. Going by car and booking our own accommodations. The map is about 6 feet long! Highlighters and sticky post-its are...

    Wall Map of Portuguese Camino

My group is cycling this June on the Camino Central with some side trips and hopefully the Variante Espiritual. I am using the Brierley guide and going with the assumption of a well marked path. I am a consummate planner needing to know all the details before hand. I love maps! I have not...

Verizon travelpass and editorial buen camino app - data usage

Another internet calling and texting option when on wifi is What's App. I used that on a 3 week trip to call home. Need wifi and you have to invite people to be on What's app, but it was great when I had it. Timing when to call home was something to consider.

Starting the Portugues Camino from Porto on 27th March 2018

I was also wondering. Thanks. I will look into the bus. We will have bikes so assuming our options are much slimmer. We have a long day the first day to reach our accommodation so looking at all routes including the costal then cut over to the central route.
