    St Andrew's Way, Scotland ...thoughts?

Darwin did a backpacking challenge called The TGO Challenge. It’s a cross country hike. Looked intense!. I don’t think that was the St Andrew’s Way hike.

Just a couple of thoughts after my last camino

We did the Portuguese route in May 2018. We started in Coimbra. I used the Village to Village book to plan our trip. Right from the start we made our own daily mileage and stops. We did not want to be rushed, we wanted to enjoy the walk and soak in the local flavor. We loved our journey and...

    Lisbon or Porto?

We walked May 2018 starting in Coimbra. Yes... LOTS OF COBBLESTONE! I was worried about that because I have Plantar Fasciitis but my trail shoes are Oboz and have great support and cushioning. And I also had Good Feet inserts. I did not have any problems!

I have Plantar Fasciitis and wanted extra protection from the hard ground. My friend who went with me...

    Weight Loss

I wasn’t trying... but I did lose about 20lbs. I don’t have a scale but when I got home I had to buy new clothes because everything was too baggy. I went down a size. I did not stop myself from eating what I wanted to eat. But I am mostly vegetarian in my diet. Also I never drink soda at...

Equipment for Chubby Girls (perhaps an ongoing guide)

I’m shorter and fatter than you when I started. I actually did lose weight walking the Camino. I lost about 20 lbs. Came home and had to buy clothes a size smaller. I walked in Columbia brand long shorts and capris. Columbia brand has plus sizes. And a couple XL REI tops. You can get...
