OH I could see you weren't criticizing, I just wanted to say, that it certainly can be a great connection, I think a lot also depends on mindset. You get out of a Camino what you need, and that may not be what you want or indeed, expect :)
HMMM I'm pleased you stated 'IMHO' as that makes things clearer, but, I'd just like to say this. Due to time constraints, I could only spend a short time to walk my Camino, and chose to do so from Sarria. I had an amazing time! I have made lifelong friends, I certainly did feel somethng...
Hi my second Camino will begin 25 September 2020. I can only get away for a week at any one time, so this will be Santiago to Finisterre & Muxia. Previously I walked from Sarria to Santiago and although a few very wet and gloomy days I will never forget the smell of the eucalyptus, nor the...
What a lovely write up! I am grateful to you for sharing your thoughts. I will not be walking as far, but hope that I too, can gain some of that peace and understanding. Not that I lack understanding, but I do hope to find my own inner depths, as you seem to have. Ultreia!
We are booked with Camino Ways, they have been really helpful, cost is reasonable compared to others, and we don't need to worry about airport transfers either. :-)
I thought that would be the case for the socks, thanks for confirming! The one I am getting is a forclas Air that have various adjustment bits and is designed for women, when I get it, I will get it fitted properly as I know this is very important, I don't want to be damaging any of my ancient...
Thanks Tom, I have a backpack sorted out, just haven't bought it yet, it's sitting on a wishlist! We are having our packs transferred as part of our trip, but trust me, choosing a hydration daypack took me some time! I think I have one that will do the job now though. I don't need to carry...
Thanks Dorpie, don't worry, they won't be worn out, both of my last pairs were good boots, and lasted over 4 years each with practically constant wear, so I'm expecting these to be just right by May. :-)
Planning is well underway, even though this is a way off! Our deposits have been paid, so it is REAL now! We are also starting to collect our bits of kit we need as we go along.
So far I have a hat, head torch, quick dry towel and a hydration daypack. My new boots (I much prefer them for...
Oh yes we surely will be posting about pour Camino, more than likely we will blog as we go as well, as soon as we have that sorted, happy to let anyone interested know where to find it!
Really helpful and supportive people here, and yes, superb advice from those who knpw. Buen Camino to you...
Thank you all!
NanaEL such a shame your Camino is put back a little, but I'm sure you will get there and enjoy it! As for getting in shape, I think that as long as you have no serious health concerns, you will be fine. I have heard people who have trained every day for ages, and those who...
Thank you! Really hoping we make it without any mishaps! I will be 59, my Australian friend will be 65, and our youngest member is eal 40s! We are all pretty fit as far as walking goes, I am used to walking miles every day from care work, don't do that any more, but I do walk my dog at least...
Thought it might be good idea to come and find out a bit more about the Camino. I will be walking from Sarria May 2019 along with 2 friends, and it will be the first Camino for all of us. Really looking forward to it, although also a bit nervous, but then I suppose most people are first time...
