Why did you do the camino? Help me out!

Day to day life(work, TV, mortgages, consumerism, bills, etc) for most is one of drudgery......the Camino provides an escape from the drudgery where you can think about everything or absolutely nothing on a historical/spiritual path while interacting with humans in their mostly natural...

    Musical instruments on the Camino.

Bring it along with you........music is international, adds to the mood and would be welcomed by many Pilgrims relaxing after a days walk. Just no Taylor Swift, James Blunt or Ed Sherrin........more Leonard Cohen, Roy Orbison, Warren Zevon, etc

Camino from Porto - Trekking Poles confiscated at airport!

Up to the individual, I've done both CF and Central route on the CP. Never took poles as I just couldn't be bothered carrying them but was in my early 50's when I did both. The walk down to Zubiri the only place would have come in handy for myself, one part a lady handed one pole back to me to...

The Camino is calling me…early planning stage questions

Saw a recent interview of Emilio Estevez recently where he stated "The Way had motivated thousands of people to get out of their comfort zone and walk the Camino". He's correct of course and you can add yourself to the list, you'll enjoy it and the Camino does change people's lives and I assume...

LIVE from the Camino Struggling to continue

End of the walking day buy some chocolate and share it with a fellow pilgrim, the mental stage not far from the end and the spiritual stage is on the horizon. Give it a week, you'll be surprised.

The enduring legacy of the movie ‘The Way’ (and a new book by Jen Hutchison)

When a person considers how much garbage is made by Hollywood along with moronic TV shows and Netflix so called "entertaining movies" a drama such as The Way free of violence, killing, predictable sex scenes, explosions, war jingoism, special effects, continual swearing, love stories, political...

    Spontaneous adventure or complete disaster?!!

Needs = food, clothing, shower and a bed to rest in each night. The rest will look after itself. No TV and limited internet use for the journey is a massive positive in my opinion. "We live in a fast-paced society. Walking slows us down."
