    Re: Current Lunch Prices

From East Coast US is 6 hours. Most of us try to make the overnight flight and some try to stay on their feet for as long as they can before dropping into the bed. Couple of days rest is a solid advice if you suffer from jet lag (I thankfully am free of this malady)

    Re: Current Lunch Prices

Naaaw - you are not rude! I cant stop you from thinking that perhaps you are, just because you polished a 1/2 bottle of wine, but IMHO that does not constitute rudeness. Just for the heck of it - what are you suppose to do with the remnants? leave the bottle on the table and if so, for what? so...

    Phoenix - Paris new route

Most likely not any different from many other airports. Can't vouch for last couple of months but never had any issues with CdG. As seems to be the trend of folks on this board - no check-in luggage (travel only with your backpack that fits into overhead bin) and at least 50% split on further...

    Travel Insurance for Americans

No problem at all - I know you mean well and it is always better to err on the side of caution, so I do appreciate your input. I edited slightly the latest post to include more details and as I said will revisit with the Insurance Co as well re:repatriation - I have a completely separate policy...

    Travel Insurance for Americans

Nope not a typo. I can always up the ante if I want to though (still have plenty of time) @TravellingMan22 - I just looked at the policy proper. this is what it states regarding Emergency Medical & Dental Expense The Company will reimburse for Reasonable and Customary Charges, up to the...

    Showers

Within reasons I will say that you most likely will want to take that shower as soon as possible after you completed you daily walk and more-or-less got situated in albergue after checking in. Wash away all the sweat, grime, road dust, etc. and feel refreshed and as @J Willhaus said - do your...

    Travel Insurance for Americans

Well I believe its for the immediate service which I am to understand in Europe is cheaper than US. And of course as so many stated the hope is not to find yourself in need of it at all :) This is Travelex WOW that's quite nice. not so lucky here - no foreign coverage :-(

    Travel Insurance for Americans

I do believe we can all agree that pretty much ANY US-issued medical insurance pays nothing outside of US. Come to think of it (and I've been really waxing on the subject lately in couple of different threads) these "insurances" pay next to nothing even inside the US.... Point is - get the...

Is it okay to have no plan for the first Camino? 🌙

    Travel Insurance for Americans

Yes @HeatherJourney that is precisely it. The "evacuation " is if God Forbid one needs a special transportation back home. There are other benefits as well. In my case I have been using Travelex for quite a while. Thise few times when I did have a claim it was paid relatively prompt and with no...

standard of living/quality of life in Spain

Oh and now it's a "huge number of very rich" Surely more than 1% HUUUUGE 😡 I will repeat myself again (with obvious addition) - to some poor block out there YOU are very rich!!! And as many already pointed out in this thread it is conjecturerable at best depending on location. In say WVa...

standard of living/quality of life in Spain

The purpose of the thread is that life in Spain is 123% less than the life in US while 8Euro beer in France is 67% more expensive than 6Euro beer does not matter where! ...WAIT.... And here ends the Lesson of the DAY 😁 🤣

    Re: Current Lunch Prices

I trained and trained and life was good on all my walks long and short flat and hilly... but on Day 10 of my Camino i got those horrible blisters.... OH.. I get it... silly me - I was training back home in US; I should've gone to Europe, then I wold've had a wonderful experience on Camino with...

    My new backpack from Gregory

    From Gregory website: Gregory Zulu 35 - 24 x 12.25 x 9.5 inches = 45.75 inches (as per below) Gregory Zulu 45 - 24.4 x 13.8 x 9.1 inches = 47.3 inches Most US airlines - 22 x 14 x 9 inches high including wheels and handles. All three measurements shouldn't add up to more than 45 inches...

standard of living/quality of life in Spain

Technically, above: 2 is 33% of 6 so the price we are paying is 67% less (if 6 = 100% and 2 = 33% then the difference is) That said, never we mind this 2\6 since the original example given was 2 euro Spain vs. 8 euro France. Hence as was noted before its 75% cheaper. Which still does not even...
