Certificate for SDC to Finisterre and Muxia

I had a normal passport (bought from this site) and produced it in the Seminario Menor in Santiago where I was staying ,to get my first stamp. They told me there was now a special passport for the Finisterre and Muxia path and they gave me and my son's one each for free. Others I met enroute...

Rude security guard at Pilgrim Office

I am home now and reflecting on another wonderful Camino. Whereas the office was quiet when I was there at the end of the day, it must have been a very tough day for all staff. Judging by comments of others here who witnessed poor behaviour by a security guard I reckon it is likely the same...

Rude security guard at Pilgrim Office

To answer the above questions. Yes, I had my pilgrims passport with me and showed it to him. As I knew I was going to be asking a question I delayed going to the pilgrims office until quite late. There was no queue when I was there. I also went on the advice of the tourist office in Finisterre...

Rude security guard at Pilgrim Office

No. I was asking about a general lost and found item. I wanted advice and to show my son the pilgrims office and gardens.

Rude security guard at Pilgrim Office

I have just arrived at the Pilgrim Office after completing the Camino Finisterre and the last 100 km of The Camino Portugues. I did not want a certificate but wanted to visit the Pilgrim Office to ask a question about lost and found items. I was treated very badly by the security guard to the...

Certificate for SDC to Finisterre and Muxia

I used the Fisterra passport and got a stamp in each accommodation on the way plus two from churches.. I handed it into the tourist office in the centre of Fisterra and got a certificate. Both the passport and the certificate were free and there was no queue.

Any recommendations on accommodations in Finisterre?

I just stayed in Pension Finistelle. I had a triple room with bathroom for 55 euro a night and stayed two nights. It is part of Finistelle Albergue but is in a separate building. It is on the outskirts of the town but on the walk towards the lighthouse.

    Hiking sandals or not?

I'm on my fifth Camino and I have bad feet. I bring two pairs of sandals and one pair of trail shoes on each as I like to change footwear every few hours. Have been wearing only my hiking sandals on this trip. Good thing too as one of my Merrell shoes got lost this week. Most people seem to be...

Lost & Found Lost Shoe between Cee and Praia de Langosteira

I lost my new Merrell right shoe walking from Cee today. If anyone finds it, let me know where it is. Worn only once. Thanks. Other than my shoe loss, this must be one of the most beautiful walks on any Camino.

My phone was stolen from me in Fisterra by a man with a knife

I didn't know Finisterre had a reputation for drugs or crime. I can cope with theft but someone being in the dorm with a knife and possibly on drugs is a different story and very scary. Can anyone confirm (or hopefully deny) this reputation? I am walking there next week with my 2 teenage sons...

LIVE from the Camino My Camino Finisterre and Muxía 2023

I am walking from Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia in August and am grateful for your writings here. I find this quote very interesting: "For most people, one of the things that is so valuable about a Camino is the simplicity. They come from a "real life" situation where there are a lot of...

LIVE from the Camino Walking with my boys.

Senda Littoral route from Porto. It's around 270km. To make it shorter, if you can't get the time needed, I recommend flying into Porto, then getting a Taxi to Labruge and starting from there. There are campsites in Labruge and enroute that have pools and are beside the Ocean which I found great...

LIVE from the Camino Walking with my boys.

This is a wonderful tribute to your father from his son and grandsons. I did Porto to Santiago with my 16 year old daughter, 14 year old son and his friend, last year by the coast. They had great fun chatting all the way and loved the back to basics way of living. So much so, that my older 19...

A walk from Muxia to Santiago- Part 2

What a lovely read. I have just 4 days in August and was planning Barcelos to TUI but I think I will do Santiago to Muxia (opposite direction to you) after reading this.

Best public transport route from Santiago to Barcelos?

I have travelled to and from Barcelos from Porto airport but I now want to travel to Barcelos from Santiago de Compostela airport as the flights are much cheaper to there. Any advice on the best route? Rome2Rio has recommended a bus to Santiago de Compostela, then a bus to Braga, then another...

Sprained ankle before Camino Frances - also any cocktail recommendations?

Great thread title. Hope you will be ok. Forget the cocktails, you are in wine country now. Buen camino.

    Ireland: Motivations for Walking There

Ultimately it is for Europeans but others are welcome to partake. I can then filter out the differences in responses by nationality. I had the questions unrestricted but changed then to one or two options only as I genuinely wanted to know what people knew most about in Ireland. A 'walking...

    Ireland: Motivations for Walking There

Thank you Sarahchicago. The questions all had be signed off by my supervisor at the university. I will look at that and change it with permission. Yes. All advice greatly welcome and appreciated. Thank you. The original was much shorter but it was lengthened to meet the needs of many after pre...
