2 Newbies beginning in St. Jean on Sept 9

I will be heading off from SJPD on Monday 13 September, so a few days behind you, and like David will be staying overnight at Orisson on Day 1. I'm also white haired and sporting a red back pack but won't be mistaken for David cos I'm a female Aussie. My walking mate Judy is more of the...

    Less Crowded Early September?

We are planning to head out from SJPD around 12 September, but reading these posts makes me think I should perhaps include a sleeping mat - just trying hard to keep my weight down to a minimum. Jane

Thanks for the link Frances. Does anyone know if it is expected to be this crowded come Autumn/Fall - I know you don't have any crystal balls out there (well, at least I don't think anyone does!), but just thought some of the more experienced Pilgrims may have an idea. thanks Jane

let walk, enjoy and learn laguages at the same time!!

I guess by 'next summer' you mean June-Aug 2010. Unfortunately I won't be walking until Sept 2011 but will be trying hard to learn the language in the meantime. Unfortunately languages do not come easily to me so, as I said, I will be trying hard :) Jane

    Class of 2011

Thanks for the friendly welcome Lynne, and you can be sure I will post any questions here, the more I read the more questions I seem to have, but I've learnt a tremendous amount already just reading the existing posts. Jeanne :)

    Class of 2011

Hi, I'm planning on walking the Camino Frances in September/October 2011. I've started training, and reading and learning all I can. I've done odd bits of hiking over the years - sort of overnight stuff, but never anything like this, so am training hard to get up to scratch. Glad I found this...
