Staying motivated between Caminos

I'm pretty structured. I try to walk or hike 3-6 miles each day, whether on local trails or just around the neighborhood. I log my mileage in an XL file. (Somewhere around 1,450 miles so far this year.) And I'm fortunate to live in AZ where snow is rare (heck, even RAIN has been rare!)...

If at first you don't succeed, try-try again and again, and again....

Absolutely awesome. An inspiration to us all. I have a friend who hiked a major part of the Frances in May 2019 at the age of 81. I hiked from Leon to Santiago several weeks later, and on to Finisterre. I believe he's hiking part of the Aragones this year at age 85. Age is only a number...

Nothing like a little encouragement at the end of a long day. I took this one entering Palais del Rei along the Camino Frances in May 2019. It felt like someone knew I was coming and they were cheering me on.

Hikers' Poems

I recently read "Whistler's Way" by William Monk chronicling his Pacific Coast Trail hike in 2019. I was especially moved by two poems that he had written. The first was titled "That is You, This is Me" and I thought very much described what a Camino felt like. We all Camino at our own pace...
