I live near the airport. You can certainly walk. The walk from the airport is what you would expect and it is probably a mile or so to Leça beach. That said I would take the metro to downtown Porto so you can experience the wonderful city. Then follow the arrows to the beach. Just my opinion
I live in Porto and there is FedEx available near or in the airports. I use them to mail items to the states from here. You can go into the larger stores or you can do it from their app on your phone. U must have a local address to put in as the sender. I just use the address of the store
Check out the trailsmart app it shows all the routes plus "extras". I like the costal route you can follow it for quite awhile. And the spiritual variant is definitely worth doing if you have time.
I just finished and I am in Porto now I did not have any problems until the last 100km. That is a different story all together. But I think it get less busy at the end of the month because school starts back up
I walked this route including the spiritual variant in 13 days. That said we started in povoa de varzim. In my opinion the walk from Porto is all industrial and really not worth it Villa do conde is where a huge shopping center is. U can take the train from the airport in Porto to povoa de...

Trailsmart is awesome it has all the info you need and it's very accurate and you can purchase and offline map if you want. I did the costal with the spiritual variant using it may. It was wonderful
I have also done the Norte the first 10 days r challenging and I did it in late August so it was hot and pretty crowded. As for skipping parts of the costal, the only city I didn't like was viana do Castelo. The bridge crossing is dangerous and we had a very bad experience in the albergue there.
Trail smart has an interactive map and an offline map u can purchase. It is very helpful and it also lists amenities elevation changes alternate routes
You are 100% right. I am not religious at all but i could not believe the minimal involvement of the churches. It's supposed to b a pilgrimage. They didnt even have boards with address for albergues or information to help you on your journey. Most of the churches we passed were closed. Im glad i...
