  There are a couple of other albergues in Vilharinho - maybe take a wander around town and see if there is anyone at the other albergues? (or anyone with packs at a cafe?) Quite a few people do the first stretch out of Porto on the coastal route...

  Frankly, yes. I believe it takes 3 hours (each way). I think the bus is quicker, and even that takes something like 2.5 hours each way Why not just take a train to A Coruna? Short trip, pleasant seaside town

  Bikes on trains in Spain seem a no-go, but are totally okay in Portugal. The very simplest might be to use your bikes from Santiago down across the Galicia/Portugal border, then train with bikes to Lisbon, then take them on your flight...

  Can you switch out your footwear for sandals? If you don't have walking sandals (and can't borrow them), consider taking public transport to Decathlon in Vigo for walking sandals (and socks). Good luck!
