    Biarritz to SJPP

I have stayed in a couple of places. Try airb&b.

    Biarritz to SJPP

Local bus right outside the airport door will take you to the Bayonne train station where they will bus you (train doesn't seem to run anymore) to SJPDP. I have tended to overnight in beautiful Bayonne and get the first bus in the morning.

Purchasing airline tickets, especially for return flight

Cheap round trip tickets to London. Then a short cheap flight via Ryanair to Biarritz going and from Santiago returning is the least expensive and least complicated method from North America that I have found.

Up coming strikes at Spanish airports 2015

Ryanair is not so bad just think BUS instead of Plane. I just did a quick Google search and it looks like there are options to get to Pamplona from Biarritz. I would stick with the Camino Frances plans.

Up coming strikes at Spanish airports 2015

Why don't you fly to Biarritz from London. Ryanair is very inexpensive. It is so easy to get to SJPdeP from Biarritz

    Confused newbie

Winging it is the best way to go. Book a cheap flight with Ryanair (Stansted to Biarritz) then just follow the crowds to Santiago.

Best 'Port of Entry' Paris or Madrid

Fly to LONDON. Get the RYANAIR flight to BIARRITZ it is cheaper and quicker.

    Baggages - Walking Poles

I've done two Camino Frances and believe that poles are not essential, but if needed cheaply bought in Spain. Just another thing to carry.

    I'm confused about taxi service

Another thought: If you're flying Ryanair one of their gimmicks is that they post a slightly long flying time so that -oh how marvelous -you arrive early. So you might arrive early. Your pack should qualify as carry on (unless you have too much stuff). Ryanair are baggage Nazis - so rigorously...

    I'm confused about taxi service

My wife and I stayed the night in Bayonne (beautiful old town) then took the first train in the morning (it was a bus).

    I'm confused about taxi service

It is only 4k to Bayonne train station from Biarritz airport. A taxi should get you there in 5-10 min (I think the local bus would be not much more than 10 mins). Then you would have lots of time to take the train (often a bus) to SJPDP
