As far as my Garmin shows. its about 2km out of Salamanca. Then it's a small path alongside the N-630 in the Gras and alongside a bike-route. You can check on google maps with satellite view. After 6km it's mostly on dusty farm roads.
When I started in Cadîz on March 20, I never had more than 2x 0.5L of water with me. But always a Mars and jelly babies. For me 64kg it was always enough, I didn't die of thirst or starvation. But that's very individual indeed. I’m walking fast and visiting Bars if available.
I did have lunch at Hostal A Taberna de Vento the day I was walking from Oseira. But didn't get a bed there it was already booked out. So I went by taxi to Lalin in a hotel and the next day walking on the Camino Inverno until the two caminos meet at A Laxe.
As you may see on this picture I would think the Gronze description is good enough to find the place after crossing the railway, as there are two railway lines. The newer fast and an older one. I wouldn't travel with Gronze alone always use my iPhone with a map and a current track to find...
I can recommend the variant to Oseira, I did stay at the new Albergue de peregrinos del Monasterio de Oseira. It's comfortable and it was warm. I had the possibility to take a guided tour inside the Monasterio and it was interesting. We had a good meal ($$) at the A Casiña Davos Café.
Ourense to...
I think this is the wrong camino to go without planing. Sometimes the next place to stay is quite far. I would use Gronze again to see how much distance is in between accomodations.
I started march 20th at Cádiz and made the reservations for the Easter holidays, but didn't realize that the days...
I walked from Puebla de Sanabria to Lubián April 23rd. 2023. My only rainy day out of 44 days. The hike on the road out of Puebla isn't so bad and not to long. Later there is another short part on the road before you pass under the bridge on a nice hiking trail up to Padornelo, with the...
Hi @Luka it isn't as bad as you may think about the road walking have a look at my GPS data Oseira-Botos they tried to keep the pilgrims off the road as much as its possible. Sometime its a path just by the road and sometimes a little detour in order to keep you of the road. If you have a...
I did use this option after 23km and all the beds at Taberna de Vento have been taken. It started to rain and I wasn’t in the mood for another four and a half kilometers.
Hi Luka, I went on April 29th from Oseira to Botos, had my lunch at A Taberna de Vento and my
Taxis Marcos Lalín +34 667 828 422 🚖 brougth me to myHotel Alda Lalín . The following morning I had just to follow the arrows on Camino Inferno and at A Laxe the two caminos join.
Hi Karin and Axx, you two are doing great. Nice pictures and the food looks delicious. You have been lucky 🍀 with dry but cold weather. Probably tomorrow it will be better again, but still cold.
Buon Camino Paul
Dear Karin, thanks for your great daily reporting. I hope it will help me for my pilgrimage. So it means to watch out for the yellow signs even in the beautiful environment. At least the weather is nice and not so cold anymore. Thumbs up I am glad that you can enjoy it so much. Buen Camino, Paul
Hi TomSawyer, I will start my camino at march 20th at Cadiz with my 20L backpack aprox. 6kg including one liter water. I am quite curious what does make your backpack so heavy. Are you in any special training?
Dear Karin, thanks for your interesting story about your relationship with "the bitch". You are hiking with a good speed.
Therefore I have my Garmin, it’s sometimes my only companion on my caminos. The faster I go it’s more talkative.
Have a nice rest day and get rid of the cough. Enjoy...
