    Suddenly feeling terrified

Daniel Boone said: “I wouldn’t give a tinker’s damn for a man who isn’t sometimes afraid. Fear’s the spice that makes it interesting to go ahead.” If anyone should know about human emotions and exploring new places, it would be him. Everything will work out well for you.

Do you keep some documents on the cloud?

Think of what you would have to replace if lost or stolen: passports, vaccination card, driver’s license. Also a birth certificate and extra visa/passport photos could come in handy. Upload those docs to the cloud, such as Google Docs or as attachments to an email to yourself or as a draft doc...

Not rushing to make a decision, just pondering...

I wouldn't expect the Norte to be temperate in April. When I walked it in 2018 mid-late June, it was damp and cool.

Focusing on transformation versus being 100% present

It's just a walk. You'll have plenty of time to think about (and deal with) the present: aches, accommodations, weather, exertion. After that, you can ruminate.
