Thats true, the tourist office in Vila do Conde are very helpful with this type of information, it's near the center of town. JB's book is more inspirational and can be a bit short on specific information. Good luck, Patrick- Pato777

Hi Chantal, I done the Porto route last June 2015. I traveled from Porto , taking a tram out as far as Matosnhos, a suburb of Porto, right next to the coast. I only traveled up as far as Villa do Conde then cut inland to Barcelos. I know there is a coastal route that brings you up as far as...- Pato777
