So I was just complaining I hadn't seen very many snakes this year. Not that I necessarily want to, but I just like seeing all sorts of animals still have their population numbers up. When I came across this! I'm putting it behind a spoiler, it's a bit graphic. A dead giant rattler where you can...
Anything upright in the desert is pretty much a target. Especially, if it's near a fairly maintained road in the middle of nowhere. When I was growing up I would collect the spent brass and sell to my dad for reloading. I think he would still buy them but most everyone picks up their brass now...
I'm another lucky Pilgrim who hasn't had bed bugs, and hasn't used chemicals. I do try and check the beds, etc. I'm a bit of a worrier but it heartens me to know that many pilgrims have dealt with and were still able to complete the Camino. In fact, I use that alot when walking to keep myself...
I live in AZ and it's mostly fine. Except I live super close to the new Mexico state line and our community is on both sides., so half the year it's e.g. " party starts at 7 AZ time, " it's easy for confusion. And the sun comes up super early in the summer, official sunrise can be as early as...
I've had the same idea! Alas I haven't been able to do it. One of the courses I have been interested in is apple languages they seem reasonably priced, but my research has not gotten very far yet. Google reviews seem mostly positive ..www.applelanguages.com/en/learn/spanish/spain.php
Hopefully...
I didn't train much for my first Camino a few long walk, and then for my second I did quite a bit more. Usually I would try to walk every weekday, not too long/far and then long walks back to back on weekends If you can, I highly recommend doing training. It made my Camino so much more...
I brought some instant packs into Spain and it was fine. Have you joined the hot water coil club yet? Its great to have coffee first thing in the morning. I love coffee and Spain really has wonderful coffee, but I love to drink it as I get ready for the day.
I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian. I found while not easy , it was possible. I ate so many Spanish tortillas, omelettes that I dont think I ate eggs for a year after my first time on Camino (though I never got sick of fries ). For my next one, I found that I like to self cater , and I don't mind...
I love icebreaker. I think you can purchase special wash for them, but I have just used regular detergent at home, and a bar of shampoo on camino. I do try not to put them in driers, but I have several times to no Ill effects. They hold up well.
I carried similar to above replies. I love trying all the different cheeses, they are wonderful. Also I love to carry dates, they last quite a while and taste like candy to me.
Hello all,
I will be going on Camino this sept. I have wanted to walk the Levante for a while now. Like most here, I love being on pilgrimage. While I started my previous caminos solo it wasn't long until I was getting to know the other pilgrims. I think I will be able to adjust to walking...
I was thinking of trying the prepaid debit card that is available at Walmart the Bluebird by American Express. I read in a travel article that it doesn't have foreign transaction fees, when using it to pay directly (not sure about ATM Fees yet, though I will ask when I make it to the store)...
How wonderful! I wish I could help you, but all I can really offer is good thoughts. Just curious are only looking at the Frances? Or any of the routes?
