    What's a Slow Walker?

We also have short legs being vertically challenged. On our first camino we finally found someone going slower than us.

    Electrolytes

As most, I am an Aquarius fan. I also bring a couple of tubes of Nuun tablets to drop in a water bottle but never in my water bladder in my pack. The Nuun tablets can leave a residue that is difficult to remove from the bladder water system. If you are inclined to chew gum there is an...

    Electrolytes

Aquarius was originally created in Japan. It was purchased by the Coca Cola company a few years ago and is marketed in most of the world in cans and bottles. Unfortunately it is not available in the USA. I do like it much better than our Gatorade, it is less sweet and much lighter. My go to...

    Celebrating my old age

Agreed, and agreeing with your later post. As a recently passed troubadour once said, "I'm all done explaining or passin' some test So pour me another, it's good for my health I'm not ready to put the book on the shelf"

    Drinking water @hotels

That is true but, as we observed, there are occasional problems that do occur in the municipality supplied water. We have always drank tap water in Portugal, Spain, Italy, etc. until we ran into the localized problem this past October. Hence my motto, if it is clear no fear.

    Drinking water @hotels

We just finished the CF at the end of October. We stayed in small hotels and a couple of auberges. Between Sarria and Santiago there were a few places where the water was not good to drink. Came out of the tap brown. This is the first time we had seen anything like that in Spain or Portugal...

    What surprised you the most?

That it is easy to describe what we did, what we saw, the people we met, the places we went, the list goes on. But I am incapable of describing the feeling I have of the experience.

Cafe con Leche / Coffee on the Camino: Enquiring Coffee Lovers want to know!!

I am a coffee lover and drink almost a full pot of coffee most days here at home in the USA. I do make it stronger than most so it does have some good flavor. I have been coffee like this for about 35 years. On the camino I actually drink less coffee. I do love a double espresso in the...

Random thing that made you smile on Camino?

This dog adopted us for the day. He followed us through a couple of towns then headed home. He was an unexpected traveling companion that just made me smile. And a little sad when he headed home.

Poll Do you listen to anything while walking?

Usually not. But when something is driving me crazy, like the tak tak tak sound of walking sticks among other things, start driving me crazy I will listen to music.

    Deteriorating Behavior

I think you hit one important point spot on, Manners. I was taught many things by my parents, respect your elders, Give you seat to a elder or infirmed/pregnant, open the door for a woman or others, say please and thank you, these are just a few things that we commonly call polite today but...

    Silly Christmas Tradition

We have had a very odd tradition for decades. We get visited by the Underware Fairy who places gifts under the tree for opening on Christmas Eve. The gifts always contain..... well underware, usually goofy or otherwise humorous. We open gifts on Christmas Eve with everyone in attendance and...

    Update on Dave Bugg

Well, I never met him in person but feel I know him and have missed his posts since he left. This is indeed sad news and he is with me in my prayers. He will be walking with me in my thoughts when I finally get to the camino next year. I have hope that he will get better and will always...

    Camino Chat

Ivar, Thank you for clarifying the intent of the app. It now makes sense for what I am seeing, or not seeing as the case may be. So in short it is an instant messaging app not an app for reading this site. I was hoping for the latter. And thank you for driving this forum as you do. It is...

I have tried that but the text is so small I can't see it and if I make it bigger I can't navigate. Yeah I know I am just too darn picky.
