it was Shirley MacLaine's memoir, which I'd read back in 2001, that put the Camino on my radar and I was determined to experience it for myself. Life took many twists and turns and when I was finally ready for it the CF had turned into something quite different from what I wanted to experience...
Prep and training has commenced in earnest, less than 3 months to go now.
I started training, walking daily with one rest day per week, gradually increasing distance and the load of my backpack. (Disclaimer - I am closing in on 60yrs and what I could do 'no worries' not so long ago seems now...

just did a bit of a search on the 'why' bedbugs bite some and not others.
One thing stood out for me - many people do get bitten but only some get a noticeable reaction because they are allergic to the bed bug saliva.
Antihistamines should help to curb a massive reaction.
In Australia there is no such opportunity, vast distances between towns make it impossible without taking the whole kit and kaboodle, plus the kitchen sink ;)
Then there is the historical and spiritual aspect to boot.
