    Is the Camino for me?

Some people (like me) get drawn to the Camino several times, others wonder why they d ever do again (like me sometimes) others still are on it and wonder whether they should leave (like me, two days ago) have made a mistake or what (I never make mistakes? ha,). So how do we know? This is a quote...

    99 steps

A Sufi story that keeps me going..., A devoted Muslim ant wanted to make its pilgrimage to Mecca during the holy month of Ramadan, The problem was, the ant was living in London, and being so small could not even contemplate how many steps it would have to take to get there. Even worse, the...

What to do before you go to church .

My Camino started with 3 nights in Lourdes - it’s a magical place - I agree, don’t go there if you don’t want to do at least a full pilgrimage day there. If time is an issue, and you still want to go, I would consider visiting Lourdes and then taking out public transport to start further along...

Recent Camino pilgrim deaths- August 2018

This happened near Izco. I wonder whether this is where the Brazilian man had intended to stop, but was forced to continue because the albergue was closed? Am doing the same route next week, very conscious that accommodaton on the ARagones cannot be taken for granted - and that distances can be...

Silly me, wanting to fall in love on the Camino

Somewhere I picked this up (I think it was in a Carlos Castaneda book ) that women are most in their power when they listen to the wind. whether you take this literal or not, I wish you a deeply healing journey.

Silly me, wanting to fall in love on the Camino

I fully trust that's a good joke, right? The way things are moving away from the original intent of the Camino, someone probably just might do this.

This is not your normal forum! (A grateful thread)

Where else in the virtual world do we experience this opportunity to do safely lay our soul bare? No wonder we feel we already know people before we ever get to meet them . Even if our paths should never cross, we still walked in the same places , and through this forum can affirm our connection.

    Cell phone manners at night

If you get angry, yes, I agree. But if you simply communicate to others that certain behaviours hurt you and/or others, then that has nothing to do with tolerance balance, but everything with encouraging more awareness of each others' needs.

    Cell phone manners at night

Actually, if I got woken up by the call at 2am, and even if the person then took it outside, I wouldnt be able to get back to sleep for the rest of the night! It’s really interesting to me how people now think the phone is essential at all times and everywhere in case of some, generally...

    Lightweight Wrap Skirt !

Looks fabulous. A bit too short at my age... but I definitely second lightweight wrap around skirt, for those multi-purposes you mention. I got a silk, mid-knee Indian one, much lighter than a sarong - shower, after walk time in albergue or even around town, sleeping... no pockets though, and...

Compostela for baby conceived on Camino?

Oh poor baby! He or she will be condemned to walk Caminos for its whole life! Plenty of Compostellas to come.

Anyone want a scallop shell dress?

Just window shopping here... but that’s really cool. Sure it will find its way on the Camino again in some form or shape.
