    COVID New start dates?

Beautiful, I can feel and understand your emotions. I walked 10 years in a row. 2019 was the year I didnt walk because my daughters were in the hospital for 4 months. You feel incomplete. But Biarritsdon, I walked in two holy years. By head, 2010 and 2014 (an extra holy hear). I didn’t feel it...

Minimum time to get that Camino-feeling

For me, there is no minimum time. Since 2009 I’ve been on Camino’s 11 times. Last year I went twice. First in June with 47 degrees from Mérida. I only had 5 walking days. It was awesome. In November I went with my father to the Francés. 4 walking days. Perfect.

Eating vegan diet on the Camino

You are talking about (political) ideology. Why? Actually what you say to me in other words is: "live and let live". I would ask you to do the same and think about more than human lives. ☺

Eating vegan diet on the Camino

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” -Maya Angelou This june will be my tenth time on the Camino (arrived 3 times in Santiago). I will be walking from Merida for about a week (cannot miss my baby daughter any longer). I'm a vegetarian and becoming a...

Second Camino: What route to take

Thanks for your input! Japan doesn't attract me that much. I have the idea that everything in Japan OS fast. But maybe I'm terribly wrong. I'm a banker and I have the idea, really stupid I know, that every Japanese person is a banker. ;) But new suggestions are always welcome, so thanks again!!!

Second Camino: What route to take

When I was reading 'The road to Santiago' it was the first time I heard of the camino. I was reading more and more and decided it would be a nice physical challenge. When I came home in 2009. It was so much moreno I learned a different way of living. BUT I'm not glued to the camino. I realize...

Second Camino: What route to take

I know about the heat and normally that's no problem for me, but I'm always carefull. As a veteran on the Camino, what do you think Falcon is the 'best' option for my second camino considering the things I said in my first post?

Second Camino: What route to take

Second Camino: What route to take

@ Viajero I understand what you mean by saying your first camino felt more special. Last november I came back to the camino frances. Walking from st Jean to Estella, bus to Burgos and then again walking to Sahagun. Altough it was magnificent it could'nt compare to 2009. First times always make...

Second Camino: What route to take

I prefer not to take a bus. I want to take it 'slow', so as less transportation as possible (except for my feet ;-)) I looked at the Arles route. What do you think about walking from Toulouse to Puenta la Reina. According to the map about 18 days. Is that a nice part. And did you like it more...

Second Camino: What route to take

Thanks Sil! I thought about a route in France. I heard the routes are really beautiful. I looked at the Le puy route, but never at the Arles. The only thing I don't like in France is the language :-P. My Spanish is basic but I can talk to locals and love that. My French is zero (altough my...

Second Camino: What route to take

In 2009 and 2010 I walked the Camino Frances and I'm thinking to do another Camino this year. But I find it difficult to make a choice between the alternative routes. At the moment I'm thinking about the Via de la Plata or the Camino del Norte, but other suggestions are also really appreciated...

What Spanish television network broadcasted camino interview

This summer I was walking the camino. When I arrived in Samos there was a Spanish television crew. I was talking to some Spanish people when the presentator asked me if he could interview me. I think he told me it was on the second channel but I don't remember it quite well. Does anybody know...

What are the Do's and Don'ts of Albergue Etiquette?

I never do that. :o I'm just too lazy/tired/or whatever to do it the night before. This year I'm going to try it. I'm just not that organised. But I don't think I annoyed anyone last year ;)

    One year on...

I did the first half of the camino last year in august. Started in SjP and ended in Sahagun. This year I will do the other half from Sahagun to Finisterre. I think of the camino almost every day. My planning is complete and I can't wait to go!! Hopefully one day I can walk the whole camino...
