    Camino provides - also religiously

I think you will see many blessings along the way if you are open to them. I have found them in the people you will meet, things that are said to you, stories you hear, fleeting relationships that impact you---maybe walking together 10 minutes-- or days, the near missteps on an edge, the last...

    Those pesky flies

Yes, and the fun pastime of picking bugs out of my teeth as I walk, and hitting myself in the eye with my poles as I was swatting them.

    Those pesky flies

Heading out again to walk next week, I remembered the flies. It could be the various face sunscreens I used, but I seemed to attract flies/insects buzzing my face while I walked. In 2021--while still some COVID restrictions were in place and I had masks with me, I found a great Camino hack. I...

Free breakfast at the Parador in Santiago?

I would check this---I remember it being the first 10 Pilgrims that get a Compostela that day. They then take their certificates and some proof of being one of the first 10 that day and they are treated to a lunch at the Parador---they have a special table for the 10 set up.

    Laundry advice

My laundry bag has evolved over 6 Caminos. I used Washeze for the first 3, switched to these other two brands to save contributing to the local landfills. Washeze has the soap on a plastic webbed sheet so there is trash left behind, the other 2 dissolve with water contact (have dry hands to...

    The truth about Camino fashion

Because of significant skin cancer in the family—adding to the “look” for me is also ghostly white face from sunscreen or heavy tinted sunscreen that looks like stage makeup. Ooohhh and the uniboob look from the sports bra!

Post a picture of your "shadow".

Teaching me new things...slowly. I’ve not posted a photo before—-sorry for the double pic...no clue how to change it

    Catholics on Camino Pilgrimage

These websites may be helpful. You will be welcome at all of the services and may be able to enjoy them more if you know what is happening. I loved having a copy of the Mass in English and Spanish so I could follow along (a printable order of the Mass in English and Spanish...

    Camino difficulty rating—but why?

Thank you so much for the specific feedback. I do guilt-free French meals really well and have missed—-for a couple of decades, being a spring chicken! These replies are giving me comfort and encouragement

    Camino difficulty rating—but why?

Y’all are freaking me out a bit saying the Le Puy is significantly harder than the CF. Why is it? Hard on your feet with rocky paths/hard surfaces? Hard in the legs with lots of ups? Hard in the knees w lots of downs? Lonely if you are not a French speaker? Lack of books/info/apps to plan...
