The one thing I should have done before I left for the Camino

OK. So we can blame your mum!

If you can access this film, please try to do so!

Is this the one which has Glen Hansard in the crew? He was the musician who played the lead in a brilliant Irish fim called Once.

Shantiago - a Camino song in shanty style

I actually liked the graphics, despite the fact that they resembled more a video game version of the camino (not that I'm familiar with that medium). I mentioned that I was going to google Sean Hampton. The results wre not enlightening. I don't know anything about computer graphics, but surely...

Shantiago - a Camino song in shanty style

@Bradypus this is brilliant! I’m assuming that the artwork is some sort of AI generated. It has a weirdly seductive, other-worldly feel. A lot of talent went into this. I’m going to google Sean Hampton.

    The Way 2 - Characters

The pre-production info states that it’s the Norte.

The Way, My Way - the movie

I've just watched this very interesting interview with BB. Fascinating insights into the origins and the making of this film. https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/the-transformative-journey-of-bill-bennett-the-way-my-way-in-2024--417849671694699205/

    It's unbelievably hot here!

Interesting. We only see the 'road kill'. But now we have to worry about the first cyclone of our season which might decide to swing around the corner at NW Cape. This is Windy's prediction for Friday.

The Way: how do you feel about THE movie?

As they might say in another context: 'Don't forget to vote!'

    It's unbelievably hot here!

The humidity has been so incredibly low that it didn't feel as bad as you might expect. And you are completely unaware of sweating.

    It's unbelievably hot here!

    Actually 49!
  13. Peregrinopaul

    It's unbelievably hot here!

No. I'm afraid I have been a bit of a sook, and I stayed in the aircon.😞

    It's unbelievably hot here!

The mods might not like this, but I can't resist posting our current temperature here on the west coast of Australia. We can be thankful that the humidity is so low. It feels like a (very) hot day on the VdlP in summer.

    A long (winding) road.

    Winding into Orisson.

The Way: how do you feel about THE movie?

I hesitate to mention this, but I am posiibly the only person ever to have done the Camino with "The Way" in his bag. I had bought (and watched more than once) the DVD shortly before leaving Australia on my first Camino. I wanted to show it to my brother who at that time lived in Portugal. He...

The Way: how do you feel about THE movie?

Tom was a boomer because the scriptwriter wrote it that way. Martin Sheen’s actual age is not relevant. This was not by any means Emilio’s first movie as director. “Bobby” is a good example, and his dad was in that too.

The Way: how do you feel about THE movie?

Did we watch the same film, @Camo? Sarah had a huge transformation, having opened up for the first time in her life about her true anguish about aborting her child. I found her conversation with Tom very moving, and indeed Tom's reaction to her. Jack, quote, in the pilgrim office: "I had...

The Way: how do you feel about THE movie?

I'm actually agree with some of your critique, but not about the main character, who's internal journey I find totally convincing. Somehow, the film's flaws don't bother me (except perhaps Jack's monologue). And I have to say that, for me, having a drink on arrival takes precedent over laundry.
