So true! I had done 2 previous Caminos with ZERO foot problems. My third was Camino Portuguese. Due to the cobblestones, I lost 2 my 2 big toenails. They bruised from hitting so much stone and pavement. A fellow pilgrim lost 6 toenails!
My family and I will be walking the Camino (all adults) in May 2017. I have already done Camino and Finsterra. I would like to try something new. Our criteria are these:
1) few people
2) lots of trees
3) mountains or hills are preferable to flat land
Would the Camino del Norte meet this...
I don't understand the importance of the credential. What does one do with the credential afterwards? Frame it and hang it on the wall? Put it in a scrapbook?

Thank you for your response. I considered the Camino Norte, but there are so many taxi transfers involved. I'm very committed to traveling on foot for the entire walk. Do you think the Camino Ingles would be cooler, since one starts out on the coast?
I was planning to walk the Camino Frances to Finisterre the first two weeks in July, but after reviewing average temps, I'm having second thoughts. Has anyone done the Camino in July? Would the Camion Inglés be cooler, as it's closer to the coast?
