    Queueing at pilgrims office

Great to know. How long in advance before finishing the Camino should one do so?

    Survey from Grañón

I stayed in Granon the night of Oct. 14 to 15, 2018. I must say that most albergues were memorable, some more, some less, but this night was the best of my journey. I think preparing the food as group (I peeled potatoes for 30) and then cleaning together, instead of only eating together, brought...

Significance of burning personal items at Finisterre

All traditions have to start some day. There was a time when some old Roman sniffed when hearing of Christmas as a new invented holiday. It is a tradition now and makes sense.

    Schengen Question

Thankx for the official link--as with any regulation, it may take longer.

When did a Refugio become an Albergue?

My night in that church attic, the communal dinner, and the prayer service in the choir at night, was the most touching night in many years, I will remember it for a long time.

When did a Refugio become an Albergue?

Thankx for the clarification. I walked the Frances in two parts (October 2018 and May 2019). For my birthday, a high school friend gave me Hape Kerkeling's book on walking the Camino in 2001, and it's all "refugios." I was wondering about whether it was merely semantic, or not. The postings here...

    The Camino Addict ARK Project

Would be like a co--op with a purpose, or the ethnic/fraternal retirement homes that used to be common in NYS--for Germans, Swedes, Socialists, Fraternal Order of the Moose, etc--just here, the common bond would be the Camino. It worked before over-regulation destroyed these sweet communities...

    Wish slightly diminishing

Many do it in slices--I did the first 230 miles, and will do the second 270 miles next year. Your writing touches the heart, good luck! Your name is like my wife's, she just has it without the -g. Thomas

The Danger of using Permethrin to prevent Bed Bugs.

Thankx! I was not sure. But I should I still take one with me?

The Danger of using Permethrin to prevent Bed Bugs.

So I sprayed Permethrin on the outside of my rucksack, my entire fanny pack, and on the underside of my sleeping liner. I'll keep everything in zip lock bags, and my backpack and fanny pack in a garbage bag every night. Should I still need to have a Permethrin spray with me for the trail itself...

My solo path to Thanksgiving (1st Camino-Sept/Nov)

Best of luck. I'll hit the trail to Roncevalles a week later, on Oct. 6.

14 Days to Go.... Checklist Checkoffs For the Day

Buen Camino! For me it's 4 weeks, I am getting excited, too.

Recent Camino pilgrim deaths- August 2018

My sympathy to the two pilgrims and their families. Well, when I start walking in October I shall see if I'm as healthy as I think I am....
