Hey there, My friend and I are starting our own Chapter of Americans on the Camino in the Orlando, Florida area. If anyone is interested, reply to me with your email. We are thinking of having our first exploratory meeting on July 14th at 10am at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. We are meeting...

    The mystical and unexplained....

I stayed in the private rooms there and even though I was alone, I had the feeling that I wasn't. It was just an odd, unsettled feeling.

thanks Falcon269.. I'm looking into this if I can figure out how to order it. recently the New York Times posted something in the Travel section that might be of interest for us Americans. wifi along the Camino?

I realized I started this thread 2 years ago... and now I'm checking again. It looks like I'll be doing my second Camino in October. And I'm still thinking about wifi along the Camino. This year, I started a podcast about the Camino called ipilgrim podcast. It's my plan to record some episodes...

    It's not a blog, it's a podcast!

Hi all, After two years of dragging my feet, I finally started on my Camino de Santiago podcast. We call it the ipilgrim podcast. It's a podcast devoted to the Camino de Santiago where we talk about most of the things we talk about on this forum. We are still in the growing stages, but it can...

What are the Do's and Don'ts of Albergue Etiquette?

I admit that I snore. I'm from a family where everyone snores. The most annoying thing ever is to be woken up from someone who suffers from insomnia. As fate would have it, I befriended a wonderful woman who suffered from insomnia. Paired with my snoring, we were a sleeping mismatch. Since their...

    Just between us girls

Instead of a bra, I used shelf-tank tops. It was good and provided an extra layer of clothing that I could also sleep in. Granted, I don't need *trying to think of a way to put this delicately* a lot of support. The underwear... ex-officio (?) sells a great pair of underwear. I think...

How did the Camino supply your needs?

I was attempting to walk from Los Arcos to Logrono in one day, Somewhere before Torres del Rio, I must have stepped wrong. At first, my left leg just felt tight and I figured it would go away. And here's the stupid part, even though my guidebook said "get water here" because there's no place for...

    Cold showers

I just returned from the Camino and I remember taking cold showers in three different areas.. 1) Estella's municipal Albergue 2) Hontanas municipal 3) In Pedrouzo/Arca.. the municipal behind the post office. In fact, that one had co-ed showers with no shower doors. So, all in all, a bad experience.

    wifi along the Camino?

Ladies and Gentlemen I returned from a successful Camino.... with notebook intact. The ipod and ipod touch came in really handy. But Wifi was unfortunately confined to larger cities. And the Skype application for the ipod touch rocks.

    wifi along the Camino?

(just please don't tell me why having an ipod that can store three million songs is somehow important) Important, no -- really, really nice -- yes! :D

    wifi along the Camino?

Where as I understand everyone's need to get away from everything, I was actually slightly offended by "why". The whys are deeply personal. I'd like to do this camino from my perspective-- not millions of peregrinos. I doubt I'm breaking deeply embedded camino norms by bringing along the...

why? I have a mother with a health issue and job that I need to be in contact with. And I'm also a "techie"
