I can think of quite a few successful movies with religious (fiction and non-fiction) contents. Not quite the same, but I like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
I have heard of this story before. I've always wondered why no movies have been made given the current spirit of acknowledging women's history and accomplishments. I hope one will be made in the future. I guess make-believe superheroes movies make much more money...
I do know that many followers (Catholics and others) seek the "laying of the hand" by a religious person. I understand that they appreciate and are grateful for such a gesture. Maybe it can be seen as nit picking. However, my point is NOT that the couple does not want the act to be performed...
I am glad that the two of you appreciated the documentary. I am disappointed that you refer to those who did not like/enjoy the documentary as looking for "self-centered YT soundbites and a short reel summary of the Camino..." No, we were not looking for this when my partner and I went to see...
Anthony, I am glad that you enjoyed the movie. We did not like it for the reasons that many have listed. I have walked several Caminos. My partner has not due to physical limitations. She watched to learn more about the Camino for herself. Something that has not been mentioned here is that there...
I'm glad to know of this option. I have a beginner's type of question. I know of truck stops in the U.S. and they're easily identifiable. How is a truck-stop hotel identified in Spain or Portugal? Thanks.
Thank you for the write up. I had thought about the Lycian Way, but after having read your blogs, I will be traveling in Turkey by bus. I'm 73 y/o with weak ankles and Achilles tendons. I will be sticking with well travelled and less challenging walks. Thanks again for writing.
Interesting topic. Seems so out of the ordinary. I'm sure unclesamsavag had been following this forum before posting. With that in mind, unclesamsavag should know all about walking in the winter, average daily distances, albergues, etc... What can I say except, "Buen Camino."
I am a U.S. citizen born in Viet Nam. For my first credential, I put down "Viet Nam." Unfortunately it did not matter as they went with my passport which is American. I guess if I had dual citizenships it would have worked.
Thank you Rebekah for bringing this to the forum. I am impressed with the internationality of the participants. Also, thank you for putting your energy into the Camino.
I realize that the Compostela means different things to different people. I know that as a runner, I appreciate receiving...
Annie's tips sound good. BTW, I also follow her tips for my less than 100% Achilles tendon.
I've read that bed bugs "disappear" in the winter due to the cold. Trying to be optimistic, since I'll be walking in the spring (April and May), does it mean there will be less bed bugs (if any)...
