I'm sorry Raj, but I am a little concerned with your conclusions based on these articles...
Here's a 10 day forecast http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/Pyrenees+2000+France+FRXX0435 The volunteers in the Pilgrim's Office will give you guidance for the day you actually set out. Buen Camino.
I think what you're describing is a sacredness that goes along with a group of people walking and reflecting on something meaningful. I also think your title for this thread "From Darkness into Light" is a metaphor for what can happen on the Camino. It feels like your walk this morning with...
First-aid must be defined within the context of the situation. First-aid in a large urban center is different than in a more remote rural setting. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and to choose their own method of dealing with blisters. If the blister sufferer gives their consent and no...
Up at the top of the page, do you see "Events"? Click on that and it will bring up the calendar. If you don't see it, or if you don't then get the calendar, it might be because of the browser you're using. Some people have been having difficulty especially with mobile devices. If you are...
An adult friend recommended to me three children's books which he thought had special wisdom for adults. One of those books was The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It's about the hazards of giving too much of oneself, even when given with love, and how that can lead to such deep depletion...
I like Shirley MacLaine, but I find in her books, she always takes it tooooo far. I'm with her to a point, and then her beliefs go beyond that with which I'm comfortable. That's ok though. A person's religious or spiritual beliefs are exactly that, theirs.
Yes, I've read Shirley MacLaine, but I've read other memoirs where the authors said that they had very vivid dreams. It made me very curious. Some authors felt they were working things out, some felt it was a result of the pain. As a nurse practitioner, I think it also could be the pain...
I have read in a number of places about pilgrims having very vivid dreams while on the Camino. I've searched and can't find a thread specifically on dreams, so I wondered if anyone would like to share their experience with dreaming while on the Camino. I'm interested in what your dreams were...
I just found this thread and would like to bring it to everyone's attention in the hopes of gathering more of these wonderful experiences. Please add your mystical or unexplained experiences.
Hi Terry, you entered your start date today. Under the message box there is a date and time when the "event" starts, and that is the Sept 5 date you must have. You can go back into April 21 and edit your event though and correct the date. You might also want to edit it to say "Terry leaves...
Mark, I put your June 1, 2014 date on the calendar. The only thing is that my picture is beside the entry. If you would like me to remove it, I will. Just let me know. Pennie
I like the ideas you already have. I second Kanga's suggestion about the credential with the stamps. Be sure to take your shell and your Compostella. Maybe some talk about costs. Best of luck with your talk! :)
Don't you need a stamped credential for any of the documents signifying completion of the pilgrimage, including the new distance certificate? I think the Compostella is symbolic of the pilgrimage, not more important but an official recognition. What a lovely keepsake. I think the young woman...
We are all drawn to different things on the Camino. For some it's the spirit of community, for some it's the simplicity, for some it's the opportunity to explore deeper levels of their spirituality. For as many pilgrims as there are, there are reasons for walking. While on the Camino it's our...
"I haven't lost my temper in 40 years, but pilgrim you caused a lot of trouble........" (John Wayne in McClintock.) Maybe you have to cause trouble to be a pilgrim. Hmmmm...... Ok, maybe not. I'm just trying to figure this out too. ;)
How long before I leave for the Camino should I treat my sleeping bag and backpack? In other words how long does it last on the items that aren't being washed?
