    Credentials

For me, those stamps are a great souvenir of the Camino that have the added advantage of not weighing anything. I have gone through as many as four credentials on the Camino Francés.

Cafe con Leche / Coffee on the Camino: Enquiring Coffee Lovers want to know!!

I'm a coffee drinker, and a very spoiled one of that: my wife roasts our coffee out in the garage, pretty much on a weekly basis. While traveling or visiting I have often had some pretty awful coffee. I'm always grateful, of course, because even terrible coffee is better than no coffee. Having...

Best / Recommended Pizza places on the camino?

I just want to give some additional love to Il Fornacio in Arzúa. I think I've been there three times now, and it's always a sort of mystical oasis in my mind. The pizza is fantastic, and the place itself is just fun to be in. When we first happened upon it in our second Camino, my wife and I...

This is my favorite creation made while On Camino!

This photo of my wife, which I took somewhere on the road to Samos in April, 2013, remains my favourite Camino photo. It very much reminds me of Bilbo's walking song, "the road goes ever on and on..."

    One Year On

Well, we're planning on starting in SJPdP just after Easter, 2016. I walked from Roncesvalles (one year ago tomorrow), and met up with my wife in León. As in so many other things, she met me half way. ;) Now, of course, she wants to walk a lot longer! That will have to wait for money and...

    One Year On

What do you do when your Camino is over? The glib answer is "start planning your next one!" A year ago today, I boarded the airplane for Spain that started my Camino. I'm feeling a bit - I don't know the word - nostalgic maybe? I'm missing the Camino, and I'm missing my Camino family...

Why has "No Money" topic pilgrim created such controversy?

I suspect that this is the primary reason why so many folks were reflexively angry/annoyed by Jim's post. Certainly that was my reaction, and I've not yet begun my Camino. I was struggling to put it into words and eventually gave up. You put it very succinctly.

Mystery of Obanos: English Saint Names?

Duke William X (the Saint) went on the Camino in 1137, where he died of food poisoning  He had several children, some of which are only poorly attested to, including a bastard son named William. It's entirely possible that some of his children accompanied him on the Camino.
