We walked part of the Camino de Levante from Avila in 2013, finishing with the Saureste. No "sign" of the 100 km requirement at that time as far as I could see. When did the 100 km minimum come in?
Gumba,
I have an unused travelsim as a result of having to cancel my Camino Primitivo (I had a seizure out of the blue a week or so ago) I could transfer the SIM card to you - I can't get a refund as it has been opened. I selected the travelsim as it seemed the best deal for me I would have...
I am planning to walk the last stages of the Camino Primitivo in late September, but will detour off Camino via O Pena and rejoin the Frances at Lavacolla. I see in the above that our last 100 km needs to be on a recognised Camino route. Should I re-route to join the whole Primitivo route via...
3 of us "older" Aussies walked some of the Camino de Levante/Sureste from Avila to Santiago in 2013, one 85 one 78 and a young one at 76. A couple of bus trips to correct the odd "body crumble" and overcome larger climbs, but we covered the rest on foot. We had a great Camino and little rain...
Getting back to Sydney from Santiago is no small feat. I think I would need a week to combat the jet lag (never less than 22 hrs in planes) and the effects of the time difference
As a result of reading an earlier & similar thread, my boots are now fitted with garish orange laces, in the hope to avoid an inadvertent "swap". Walking poles will also be personalised.
I worried about my 6 pill a day "habit" in the end I labouriously emptied the blister packs for the whole 5 weeks into one container in Sydney and took that - no problems at customs into spain, France & UK, despite my significant other's worries.
A very moving night in the Albergue of the 17th Century Monastery at Osiera The Hospitaliero brother Marie Claire gave us an icon, if you like. Now a treasured keepsake. Worth the divergence from the route, just to be taken on a tour of the dusty 17th century library and to attend the various...
We will be walking the Camino Primitivo/Verde/Norte in May. I would like to buy a data/phone sim in Australia before I leave, so as to have everything organised before I leave Sydney. I will only need it for about a month, and it would need to cover UK, France and Spain. So many offers on the...
For the "elderly" pilgrims. We hope to walk the Camino Primitivo, and the Camino El Verde in May next year. What follows is somewhat technical. I will have an app of the OZ designed OziExplorer running on my Android phone with the route for the day and the 1:25,000 "live" topographic maps...
